Alteryx Workflow Documenter Example

This process uses Workflow Master Data & Gallery Workfows tables as the initial sources for documentation and for rapid use of new information, the Alteryx Documenter is a secondary process for documenting every component contained in a workflow and the self service component is for capturing details of a workflow that are only known to the Artisan such as audience and initial process time saved. This allows us to rapidly solve problems by providing details in error messages starting with a problematic workflow or table, current owner, team, description and audience. In addition, this also fills the gap with our Alation data management tool for missing lineage of Tableau or tables. It does this by using the curl command with the Alation API to create a Data Flow object connecting the source and target along with the details about the process.
